7th Pay Commission latest news today: Early Diwali for employees of this state; Here`s what they get



7th pay commission: One after another, state governments have been announcing a pay hike gift for their employees. On the other hand, the central government employees are yet to get any assurance from the authorities. The central government employees are getting the benefits and pay as per 7th pay commission's recommendation of a fitment factor of 2.57 times. However, they are demanding a hike as per the fitment factor of 3.68 times. For the state government employees, the formula is as per the seventh pay commission report recommendations.

In the last week of August, Centre had announced a 2 per cent Dearness Allowance hike for the central government employees. The hike was in line with the recommendations of the 7th pay commission.

Now, following the in footsteps of the Centre, the Haryana government has also announced a Diwali gift for its employees. The state government announced two per cent increase in DA for its staff on the revised pay scale effective retrospectively from July 1, 2018.

This will cost the government an additional Rs 182.80 crore, from July 1, 2018 to February, 2019 in the financial year 2018-19.

On the other hands, a section of staff of Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir government is yet to get the benefits of the 7th pay commission. The teachers of the Jammu and Kashmir have been protesting to get these benefits. Their Bihar counterpart is also on the waiting list as the state government panel looking into their pay hike demand is yet to submit its report.


In what could be called as a Diwali gift, the government has extended LTC benefits for the CG employees. The Department of Personnel and Training said that the scheme allowing government servants to travel by air to the North East Region, Jammu and Kashmir and Andaman and Nicobar Islands is extended for a further period of 2 years with effect from September 26 2018 to September 25 2020.

"LTC for visiting NER, J&K and A&N in lieu of a Home Town LTC." 

" Facility for air journey to non-entitled Government servants for NER, J&K and A&N." 

"Permission to undertake journey to J&K, NER and A&N by private airlines." 

The Union government had previously extended the LTC benefits for Central government employees in 2014.
